A Tuesday Night Out With Buddies From School At A Local College Nightclub Results In Hazardous And Excessive Drinking And Alcohol Overdose Symptoms

When Lois was in high school, she had achieved a reputation as a book worm who rarely, if ever, let her hair down by drinking with her friends. She seemed passionate about excelling academically so that she would be able to secure a career that she not only liked but one that also gave her a degree of monetary stability.

After Lois completed high school, she applied to and was accepted into an outstanding program in English. Her analysis of her options regarding this decision was based on the fact that this subject matter would be a good springboard for law school and would not be identical to the bulk of law school applicants who choose political science as their undergraduate minor or major.

Lois was the kind of individual who worked vigorously to complete what she was doing and then would take some time off when she could. It just so happens, however, that virtually all of the things she did between terms or during her summer vacations did not have anything to do with drinking. Obviously, Lois was anything but a party-person. Now that her finals for her second year in law school were finished and feeling happy that she had done very well on her exams, because of this, she wanted to let her hair down and do something enjoyable.

So Lois and some of her buddies went to a local bar and grill where they had a few shots. As the evening advanced, Lois and her friends continued to drink. If truth be told, she was having so much fun that she didn't want the night to come to an end.

After drinking around fifty-five minutes when Lois started to slur her words, speak in a confused manner, and then become unconscious, in spite of this, her pals promptly realized that they needed to call that they needed to call 911 and ask for emergency assistance because they thought that Lois was manifesting alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Lois was conscious of the fact that she came an inch from losing her life from an alcohol overdose and, as a consequence, was grateful to be alive. At the same time, nonetheless, she was somewhat depressed knowing that she had almost passed away the night before. Her Mom and Dad realized how relentlessly she worked at college and how little she let herself socialize with her pals. Nevertheless, they also realized that Lois needed to keep away from abusive and unhealthy drinking.

As a consequence, they suggested that down the road, whenever a drinking circumstance presents itself, that she always drink responsibly and in moderation. Lois agreed and promised her Mother and Father and her friends that she would never ever drink in an abusive and irresponsible manner. As stated by Lois, "I never had a clue that I might become one of the alcohol poisoning statistics in the local town newspaper. I now know that careless and excessive drinking is not for me. I give my word of honor that this will never happen again."

Fortunately, Lois was not only "school smart" but she also had. Stated another way, she immediately knew that she had made an error in judgment and decided that she would not make the same error again. Indeed, she now understood that she had involved herself in "binge drinking" and that even one instance of this type of abusive and careless drinking can end in a fatality.
