A Young Man Receives A DUI Arrest And Decides To Hire A DUI Lawyer

Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a DUI, represented himself in court, paid twenty-five hundred dollars in penalties and fines, and served 90 days in the local jail. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from an attorney friend that if he would have hired a DUI attorney in the first place, he more likely than not would have had his fines and penalties significantly reduced and he may have never served any jail time.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more facts about DUIs and so he asked his dad for more information about what a DWI attorney can do in a DUI arrest. His dad then articulated the following: "Drunk driving is a very complex and complicated field with increasingly severe consequences. There is a host of administrative, sentencing, evidential, complicated constitutional, procedural, and license issues. And all of these issues are best addressed by a DUI attorney."

When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the relevance of hiring a "drunk driving" lawyer. Near the end of their discussion, Lawrence mentioned that he was beginning to grasp the relevance of "drunk driving" laws and what DWI attorneys can do for a person who has received a "drunk driving" arrest.

After getting "schooled" about "driving under the influence" arrests, the role of "drunk driving" lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would without question hire a "driving under the influence" lawyer to represent him in court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence at last began to understand the critical nature of "drunk driving" arrests and, as a result, he arrived at a decision that from this moment forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to suffer through another DWI arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was fifty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self worth and so Lawrence thanked his dad and then said, "if I can always drink in moderation, I will never need to hire a DUI lawyer again!"

Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is exhibiting any of the common signs of alcoholism. In truth, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol signs that indicate alcohol abuse or alcohol dependency, he will probably need alcohol counseling.

If truth be told, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get rehab for his excessive and careless drinking. The positive news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to face his careless and excessive drinking, it appears that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
