Not one of us had ever been working with any kind of celebration intended for the White House and we were completely excited... It turned out to be a picturesque soothing full moon evening as the yacht slipped along the San Francisco Waterfront with Tipper Gore and her entourage. After a rather long day on the campaign trail Mrs. Gore turned out to be enjoyable as well as friendly. She learned the onboard employees by name and was genuinely down to earth. The cruise went by extremely quickly. A tremendous time was experienced by all.
When Mrs. Gore arrived in her motorcade everything was perfect. She turned out to be gracious and greeted everyone attending and wanted to know first names which she remembered even at the conclusion of the cruise. The full moon was rising behind the Bay Bridge and the water was smooth, reflecting the ascending moon. After about an hour absolutely everyone started to calm down and were in a position to leave the campaign behind for a little while. With dinner and desserts finished, we headed back into dock.
