Iscar is adding a completely new unique milling system using tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has considerable advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has more cutting edges, positive rake face, diminished cutting forces resulting in elevated performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the periphery of numerous milling cutter types, providing unsurpassed conditions also for heavy-duty applications with remarkable surface quality, saving further finishing operations. Cutters are offered for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.
Each carbide insert has 8 cutting edges, 4 for right-hand and four for left-hand cutting, increasing the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges supply on one side strong and dependable clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The usability of this positive axial rake design diminishes the cutting forces due to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is mandatory for use on modern machining centers with pallet systems less firm than on the conventional transfer lines.
In standard applications like in the auto industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch enabling the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the automotive industry it is prevalent to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be used.
New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal
New progress coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade campaign, which guarantees that they are looking to the future. The new Upgrade campaign, planned to be released at the end of year 2008, will offer original tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction operations, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to increase productivity on the shop floor and to increase profits.
Iscar's focus for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate compositions, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle characteristics. Iscar's future trends incorporate new carbide insert grades for effective and economical machining, more cutting edges for each insert and upper-level tangential clamping mechanisms which will significantly cut down the cutting strain. The induction of the AL-TEC, PVD coating mainly for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating essentially for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for improved strength will remodel the way manufacturers machines cast iron. Furthermore, Iscar producing mini inserts is an additional trend within the Upgrade movement, referring to minimizing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to simplify fine pitch configuration which will accelerate feed rates. In addition, the minimal size of the carbide inserts and their tangential position in the pockets enable a much larger core diameter, in terms of tool configuration, when compared to standard radially positioned inserts.
Iscar Announces A Completely New Line Of Slitting Cutters Applying Tang-Grip Technology And The Durability Of Sumo Tec Grades
Iscar now offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that combine the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the added durability of the new Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already proven successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters.
Iscar Recently Releases Numerous Original Lines To Continue Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Several Progressions Have Broadened Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Increased Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
Original Tools And Carbide Insert Shapes From Iscar To Better Improve The Machining Procedure
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.
New End Mills Coming From Iscar Will Boost Productivity While Cutting Down Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
A Number Of Improvements In Carbide Inserts Thanks To Iscar Across The Last Decade
Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
