In the late autumn the creepy crawlers came rushing into our residence from their outside nests looking for refuge from the impending winter winds and cold. If there is one thing I can't stand it is spiders. One night I was awoken by the howling storm and a scary dream to find with horror, just over my head on the ceiling was an ugly, furry, eight legged creature that seemed to sense my fear and came creeping towards me in a slow but determined manner. I shouted, but it kept coming.
I woke my husband who was snoring next to me and pushed him, half-awake through the hall yelling 'Bring the vacuum cleaner, its time to go spider-busting'. It was simply when we switched on the lights that we saw with utter despair that the arachnid aggressor was not alone - he had an army - all through the house they were dotted, stooping in corner, crawling down walls. Right, it was time for resolute action.
